Company health insurance in Germany

Company health insurance is an additional benefit for your employees. It is simpler than a typical insurance policy: depending on the plan you choose, your employees will have a fixed yearly budget that they can use to supplement their main health insurance policy.

Feather starts with a flexible health budget that your employees can use for any healthcare needs, from doctor visits to specialist consultations or treatments. You can further extend the coverage with options like dental care, preventive check-up vouchers, and daily sickness allowance to provide additional financial support during illness.

In order to benefit from our policy, employees need to be between 16 and 70 years of age and have their primary residence in Germany. A company needs to sign up a minimum of 5 employees.

There are no waiting periods: the insurance policy starts on the 1st of the following month and can be used from the start date.

Premiums are due monthly and are debited directly from the company account.

Insurance ends together with the employment contract

There are three models for taxing company health insurance (bKV).

In Model 1, employees bear the taxation, meaning the premiums are added to their taxable income.

In Model 2, the employer covers the taxes, so the employee's net income isn’t affected.

In Model 3, the employer pays a flat-rate tax on the premiums, simplifying the tax process.
